I've replaced startitis and the urge to buy yarn with the desire to acquire new books. Not that I need any of them, mind you.On my list of books I want:
Nancy Bush's Knitting vintage socks
The Knitter's book of finishing techniques
The 3 Vogue Stitchionaries
A Gathering of Lace
Favorite socks: 25 timeless designs from Interweave
I need to win the lottery.

I have A Gathering of Lace, and it is a gorgeous book. I've heard that there are some mistakes in the charts, but I haven't knit anything from it just yet. It's a very good inspiration book though.
Oh, and I have some books you should add, because I am an evil enabler: anything from Barbara Walker's Treasury of Knitting Patterns series. I've been plotting my own sock patterns with the first book.
'Knitting Vintage Socks' is a great book. I've made a couple of things from it, and the patterns are well written and fun. I don't have the other books, but I want 'em, too. Ditto the Barbera Walker.
Hey Caroline,
I can help you with the "Knitter's book of finishing techniques" - you can have my copy for cheap. Interested? It's brand new.
